Wine Online by Adam Rapoport
Time Out New York, Issue 235

Bigger is not always better -- not when it comes to monstrous wine selections that leave you more confused than satisfied. At Winesby.com, founder Jeff Hock sells just 60 handpicked wines costing $8 to $27, all of which, as he likes to say, are "ready to drink that night." Log on to his site for a thorough description of each, punch in (or phone in) your order and, within 90 minutes, car-borne couriers will deliver cases and bottles anywhere in Manhattan below 96th Street. Hock, a former winemaker, also sells his stash from a slim West Village storefront. "Really, these are just my favorite wines," he says. "They're wines I know and like."
